Cut Personal taxes
|
Ontario's top combined provincial - federal tax rate is the second highest in North America. By implementing a single rate of 8%, we will be a more attractive location for needed professionals and trades people.

Reduce Taxes on Business
|
By reducing the general corporate tax rate to 8% we will make Ontario more attractive to business investment which will increase economic growth, create employment opportunities and reduce the need for uncompetitive government subsidization.

Increase Government Efficiency and Reduce Government Spending
|
Government has more of a spending problem than a revenue problem. We need to demand government accountability and fiscal responsibility first, rather than automatically defaulting to tax increases that only place additional financial pressure on our population. The fiscal mismanagement of past governments has created significant provincial debt that wastes billions in annual interest payments which could provide the services people really need.

Lower Energy Costs
|
We need to eliminate time of use billing and end the discriminatory delivery charges that discriminate against rural residents. Nuclear energy currently provides 15% of Canada's electricity. Do we need more private sector plants as a cleaner alternative while we develop alternative energy and transition from oil and gas?

Review and Reform Municipal and Regional Government
|
We need to move towards a continuous improvement mentality in our lower tier governments to ensure best practices on service delivery, to reduce service and administrative duplication, to reduce over-regulation and to guarantee effective and accountable local political representation.

Facilitate Sustainable Economic Development
|
We need to develop a long-term strategy that facilitates sustainable economic development in our region rather than rely on increasingly tighter financial support from upper government. Planned, sustainable economic development will provide investment, infrastructure, employment and more suitable levels of affordable revenue generation.

Maintain the Quality of Our Natural Environment
|
We need to actively resist any inappropriate potential development / population increases via the opening of lakefront crown land. I fully support policies that would limit lakefront development based on lake surface area.

Increase Access to Quality Internet Services ...
|
While it is can be nice to sometimes disconnect, we need increased access to quality internet services in our region to support economic growth, communication and education.

Establish Consecutive Term Limits For Politicians
|
Doing so will result in enhanced performance, increased energy, fresh ideas and greater accountability, while reducing an entitled 'old boys' club. Specific 'recall legislation' will increase accountability for unfulfilled promises while encouraging integrity and transparency.
